As you may have read, SASS stands for Students Against Student Shootings. We are dedicated to making a difference in the public school systems. Not only do we want to prevent any more school shootings from happening, but also we want to stop school violence completely.

Everyone that joins SASS is not considered just a member of SASS, but a representative in the area of the country that they live in. If interested, that member can be sent the information to start a local chapter of SASS in their community. By allowing the member to run a local chapter of SASS where they live, it gives a better sense of personalization. No two areas of the country are alike, so why should every chapter be run by the same place, especially when needs are different?

We believe in being as personalized as much as possible. Once becoming a member, you sign up on a mailing list by your own choice. Joining the mailing list is not mandatory, but suggested. By joining the mailing list, you will be able to keep updated on events going on within SASS, and you will also be able to help make decisions that will help SASS grow for the better.

By now, you are probably wondering how SASS intends to stop school shootings. Since problems are different in each part of the country, the solution is different as well. This is one purpose for members being a representative in their area. With larger organizations, they run out of one office, and attempt to do everything the same way. However, SASS understands that a solution may work in one area, but not work in another area. Our goal of having local chapters of SASS will be the main solution of preventing violence. As more members join in a certain area, they begin to watch out for each other, and keep an eye out for violence. By doing this, they are taking the first step of preventing violence in our schools and neighborhoods. From this point, what each chapter decides will help prevent the violence is up to them.

We are a non-profit organization. We are, however, looking for sponsors. If interested, please click here.We also have volunteer jobs available for those interested. If interested in volunteering, please click here. When you become a member, you will usually receive an e-mail describing what is currently going on in SASS, as well as a description.

If you have any questions, please feel free to E-mail us and your answer will be answered as soon as possible.
